Lesley Lotto on Tuesday
Please help me welcome Lesley Lotto to class on Tuesday. You'll see from her bio that Lesley has a deep and varied background but truly loves radio and audio. We'll hear her take on the current state of the business, but also where she thinks it's all headed!
Lesley Lotto has worked in the Entertainment industry for more than 20 years. Her combined experience in the music, film, TV and radio broadcasting industries gives her an unparalleled level of experience.
Lesley worked in Los Angeles as a Talent Agent for award winning Film & TV Music Composers and top selling rock and pop bands for ten years before returning to radio, which had been a dream since she was in college.
Lesley's radio career started in Los Angeles at All News Radio, KFWB and Metro Traffic Control. Her most recent Los Angeles radio experience was at “The Most Listened to Talk Station in the Country”, KFI. Lesley was a News Editor, Writer and Producer at KFI and trained to be an anchor there. During her time there, Lesley anchored for another major market Clear Channel station from the KFI studios, KGET Newsradio in Bakersfield.
Lesley is also known through much of the state of Montana as one of those responsible for adding a new voice to Newstalk Radio in Montana. KKNS radio was the first Progressive Talk Station in the state. Lesley was the Program and News Director for KKNS in Missoula, Montana. Lesley also hosted a popular community affairs talk show called “Focal Point” where she regularly interviewed the highly popular Governor of Montana, the 2 U.S. Senators for the state and Montana's only member of the House of Representatives.
After leaving KKNS, Podcasting quickly became a passion of Lesley's. Her podcast, "Random Notes" can now be heard on Blackberry's and iPhones available at www.lesleylotto.podOmatic.com. It still receives more than 25,000 hits per month.
Besides feeding news to stations around the country and the occasional deejay gig, Lesley spends her time with her husband and two kids in Missoula, MT, practices Hot Yoga as often as possible and hikes with her two dogs in the beautiful Rocky Mountains.
